The First National Conference of Chinese Medicine Symposium Was Held Grandly

The conference was held at the Marriot of San Francisco on September 15th, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. It was co-organized by seven professional associations in the United States including American Association of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture(AACMA) from Northern California, American Traditional Chinese Medicine Society(ATCMS) and United Alliance of New York State Licensed Acupuncturists(NANYSLA) from New York, Florida Acupuncture Association(FAA), Massachusetts Society of Chinese Medicine(MSCM), Chinese Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Greater Washington DC Area, and California Acupuncturist United Association(CAUA) from Southern California.  It was hosted by the American Association of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. It was sponsored by the Tibet CheeZheng Tibetan Medicine Co. Ltd. and GuangDong E-Fong Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. Twenty Chinese and American Chinese Medicine organizations and colleges such as Chinese Herb Trade Association of America supported the conference. Nearly 300 people including Chinese medicine experts, scholars, doctors, professors, students and business vendors from all over the United States attended the event. Through lectures, demonstrations, conference discussion, academic paper exchange and merchandises exhibition, new achievements, new experience and new progresses in scientific research, clinical, teaching and production of Chinese medicine have been reported, studied and discussed. Another wave of enthusiasm in learning traditional Chinese medicine was created through this conference.

The Secretary General of AACMA, Dr. HuaShu Shen, and Dr. XiaoYan Liu hosted the opening ceremony in both Chinese and English respectively. The president of AACMA, vice president of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies and vice president of AAPAS, Sam Huang, gave the opening remarks. President Huang warmly welcomed all colleagues from all over the United States to gather at San Francisco to discuss, exchange and improve academic knowledge in Chinese medicine, hoping to stimulate new theories, ideas and therapies formation, to promote the advancement of Chinese medicine into the mainstream western communities and to make greater contribution for the health care of the American public.

Key political leaders such as the Cultural Counselor of the Consulate General of The People’s Republic of China in San Francisco, XiaYong Xiao, and Consulate Ming Zhao, the president of the World Federation of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Societies and president of China association of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, BaoYan Liu, Chairman of California State Assembly B&P committee, Evan Low, California State Assembly member and Chair of the Assembly Committee on Budget, Phil Ting, and California State Assembly member and Chair of the Assembly Housing & Community Development Committee, David Chiu, made a special trip to the symposium and delivered congratulatory speeches. Three members of the California State Assembly presented certificates of recognition to seven main organizing associations.

The strong support from two sponsors funded the great success of the conference. The general manager of CheeZheng Tibetan Medicine, KaiLie Liu, and the general manager of E-Fong Pharmaceuticals, QunHua Zhang, also delivered congratulatory speeches.

The experts who delivered academic lectures at the conference were Professor BaoYan Liu, Dr. YongMing Li, Dr. YiWei Chen, M.D. Brenda Golianu, Professor GuanHu Yang, Professor Ning Ma, Professor BenZheng Fang, Dr. RongSheng Lin, Professor Ying Lu, Professor Ming Jin, Dr. San Hua Leng, Professor ShunFa Jiao and Professor LingZhi Shi.
