What is Acupuncture?

By Crystal Zhao

Acupuncture is a treatment modality of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Acupuncture is a method used to treat conditions including, but not limited to, emotional disorders, digestive disorders, pain due to injury or associated with chronic degenerative diseases, and neurological disorders. This treatment method involves the insertion of thin needles into the body at acupuncture points to manipulate the flow of qi/energy and promote self-healing within the body. Acupuncture is safe when performed by an experienced and licensed acupuncturist. Acupuncture needles used by practitioners follow FDA regulations. The stainless steel acupuncture needles are sterile, non-toxic, and are single-use only.
